Local FC Cup 2012 Indigenous Coaching Clinic at NCIE

As part of the Local FC Cup in a few weeks time which will take place at NCIE (National Centre of Indigenous Excellence), Local FC wanted to make a difference in the community through football.
Local FC headed down to NCIE on Monday and held two coaching clinics for the school holiday program. This was not about uncovering a new star, this was about making a difference in these kids’ lives and simply putting a smile on their faces..
On the day, we chose a best and fairest boy and girl who will be awarded by coming to their first A-League match. As part of the day, we have organised for them to meet with players from the League as well as crew from FOX Sports and to have a chance to get onto the pitch.
The day was an outstanding success. We wanted the kids to play with a smile on their faces, listen, learn and help their teammates, showing how football teaches life lessons. The kids took everything on board and we all had a fun day kicking the ball around the field.
The feedback was that “the kids loved it and we ruled.” This definitely put a smile on our faces and is a small step in showing the difference football can make in this world.
